YouTube Red Sees Green

YouTubeIt doesn’t take much searching to find tech- and social media-related stories. The nature of this business sector spurs rapid change and offers fodder for blogs in a way that covering the coal industry might not. I point out that I perceive technology as a business sector rather than a function of everyday life for a reason.

YouTube Red officially hit the U.S. market Wednesday, October 28. If you’ve used the YouTube app on your phone recently, you’ve probably been prompted to subscribe to the ad-free service. For $9.99/month you can remove all ads from your YouTubing experience. This allows users to listen to music or watch videos uninterrupted...

Social Media as the New Age of Customer Service

Category: BusinessEducationFeaturedMarketing Comments: No comments

CustomerServiceWith seemingly constant access to the Internet, communication is more prevalent than ever. We can call and text anyone within our phone books, at any time, and we can share our opinions on companies. For all to see. Within a few seconds, we can give an opinion and get it out into the world – forever searchable by the interwebs. Which also means we have more ways to reach companies, and a quicker access at feedback. Companies are looking for those who mention their names, while customers are looking for any outlet possible in which they can talk to a business.

This is a new norm that allows for an efficient line of communication. Where customers can reach out (and vice versa) in real time. Where they don’t have to be put on hold or wait for days at a time for an email response...

saveri-future-trendsIn today’s culture, it’s almost nothing to coin a brand. To found an idea for a company where you have all the logistics worked out. Some might even have multiple ideas stocked away, just waiting for the right time to strike out and bring their ideas to life.

In either scenario, it’s time to talk about business names. How people are picking increasingly trendy names for their companies – whether in fruition or beginning planning stages. Names that incorporate “ility,” “ly,” “ology,” etc. Where spaces don’t exist and punctuation is weird and confusing...

OnlineShopping1When a customer makes the decision to purchase something, he or she subconsciously goes through “the buying cycle.” A five-stage cycle that ultimately helps them find the product that they are seeking, and the business from which to purchase. Additionally, the cycle also determines if the customer will return to make future purchase at the establishment.

As a business owner, it is up to you to use the customer’s buying cycle to grow your company. You have to make a continual effort to ensure that every customer who is seeking your products, chooses you over your competition — and also keeps coming back for more.

Understanding the 5 Stage Buying Cycle:

Awareness, research, comparison, purchase and retention — these are the five stages of the customer’s buying cycle...

Web Design Can Make or Break Your Image

“The times, they are-a changin.” Bob Dylan, of course, was referring to the way one presents one’s self in the Information Age. Now they say 57 is the new 48.5, and that the website has superseded the power suit. That’s right Mad Men, the tie and the cufflinks are being replaced by the tabs and the font scheme. Your avatar is your identity. People work from home; I’ve got a corner office, and it’s in the basement. I’m not saying everything has changed (I still have a 9 A.M. scotch each day), but certainly web presentation has become at least as important as attire when it comes to professional image.

This being the case, I need to put together a site of my own. I want to like the way I look, but alas, tracking down the Men’s Warehouse of web production has not been easy...
